quality education for students

1. The 10 + 2 system will be divided into 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 format

New system of education: As proposed, the 10 + 2 school education system will now be divided into 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 format. This means that the first five years of school will include three years of pre-primary school and foundation stage including class 1 and class 2. The next three years will be divided into the preparation phase of classes 3 to 5. Later three years of middle stage (classes 6 to 8) and four years of secondary stage (classes 9 to 12). There will be no rigid constitution of arts, commerce, and science streams in schools, students can take whatever subjects they want ..

To change the board exam pattern - all CBSE courses will be offered in two languages. Knowledge application will be tested in state board exams, not rata learning. There will be an objective and descriptive test for each subject.

2. 6% of GDP to education

Education sector to get 6% of GDP, earlier it was 3.8%

The announcement of the National Education Policy 2020, aimed at increasing spending to 6% of GDP, requires that the Center and states work together to reach 6% of GDP as soon as possible to increase public investment in the education sector.

3. There will be no rigid separation between science and arts stream

The government has today approved the new education policy where there will be no rigid separation between arts and science streams and curricular and extra-curricular activities. The government said that it will now follow a multi-disciplinary approach. If a student wants to study fashion with physics, or if one wants to learn bakery with chemistry, they will be allowed to do so.

4. Every child's out of the school adept in at least one skill

Such a policy was created whenever a student came out of school, he was proficient in one skill or another and made the student a future.

Everyone's right

5. MHRD Renamed as Education Ministry

In the midst of the epidemic in the country, several schemes were launched by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) keeping in mind the interests of the students. Under this, many schemes were like a step towards self-reliant India. Meanwhile, the name of the ministry has been changed by the central government. The MHRD has now been renamed as the Ministry of Education.

6. National Educational Technology Forum

The New Education Policy or NEP 2020 advocates greater use of technology in education. Other reforms suggested in the policy include the formation of a single regulator for higher educational institutions known as the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI), multiple entries and exit options in degree courses, closure of M.Phil programs, less Betting board exams are included. And General Entrance Examination for Universities.

Now degree will not tell anyone's skills

7. The command entrance exam for all higher education

NTA already conducts entrance exam for admission in Central Universities like All India Engineering Entrance Exam JEE Main, Medical Entrance Examination - NEET, UGC NET, University of Delhi (DUET), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNUEE).

NTA will offer common entrance exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will offer a high-quality general aptitude test in science, humanities, language, arts, and professional subjects, as well as specific general subject exams, at least twice every year for the university entrance exam.

As per the new policy, the entrance examination conducted by NTA will be optional for admission to universities and colleges. The new system has some similarities to the standardized aptitude test ie SAT conducted for entry into the United States.

8. Test Knowledge Application

Board examinations have been made easier in the new Education Policy (NEP) approved by the Union Cabinet. This has been done to reduce the pressure of examinations in students. Board examination will be continued for classes 10 and 12 as per the new education policy.

As per the education policy, boards can also develop viable models ahead of board examinations over time, such as - there will be an annual / semester / modular board exam. Apart from this, two objective and descriptive tests will be taken for all subjects starting with mathematics.

9. Coding from class 6th

The government announced on Wednesday that coding will be taught from class 6. Education Ministry officials made the announcement at a press conference, which was held in the presence of Union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'.

Coding  will be included in the 6th-grade syllabus.

10. E-courses in regional languages

The new National Education Policy also focuses on basic literacy and basic numeracy. Under this, major changes have been made in the educational structure of the curriculum without any separation of streams. The difference between vocational and academic and curricular and extracurricular will also be removed. In the National Education Policy 2020, it has been emphasized that the medium of teaching at least till class 5 should be a mother tongue or local/regional language. But it is on a priority basis till or after class 8. Sanskrit should be offered as an alternative with 3 language formulas at all school levels and higher education levels. Under the new National Education Policy, the board examinations will be low stakes and will assess the actual knowledge of the student. This means that report cards will be the ones to give detailed reports of talent and ability, not just those that tell numbers.

Apart from this, there have been changes in many policies.

- Vocational education starting at class 6 with an internship.
To teach at least Grade 5 in mother tongue / regional language. No language will be imposed on any student.

-A new and comprehensive National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE) 2021 will be created by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in consultation with the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

-2030, minimum degree qualification for teaching 4-year integrated B.Ed. Degree.
